Towards the end of June, I photographed at a styled shoot at a beautiful farm in Mount Vernon, OH along with 20+ other talented ladies. On that very hot, humid day, we met at Warwick Farms, an events venue that is also an entirely operational farm (with cute little sheep and llamas!) and we were all amazed at how beautiful the Farm is. Before the styled shoot, I had no idea that this place even existed and I cannot wait to have opportunities to work there again! In fact, I’ll be photographing an engagement session at the Farm on Labor Day weekend and I’m so excited!
There were SO many different places to photograph at the Farm! There are at least three greenhouses, a chicken house, dozens of barn cats, a giant barn that can hold at least 200 people and a beautiful, west-facing field that’s perfect for sunset portraits! I’m so in love with this property. Due to the size of the property and the number of photographers at the styled shoot, there were two couples modeling for us and numerous tablescapes and details to photograph! Because of that (and because it’s hard to pick my favorite photos to share), I’ll be breaking up my images into two posts (thanks for the idea, Caitlin)!
The first couple & “wedding” I’m going to feature is Drew & Jenny. It’s truly a small world guys. Think about it – there’s probably 50 people on the property on this day, most of them I’ve never met before, and there were at least FOUR of us with arrow tattoos! How cool is that? Drew – he’s one of those cool people. To continue the small world bit – I found out after the fact that a good friend of mine knows Jenny & Drew through church and we couldn’t stop gushing over how awesome they are!
They’re super stylish, love to explore and travel, love their dog and are newlyweds! Thanks for being awesome, guys! I completely relived the day as I was editing the photos and it’s totally obvious how head over heels they are for each other. At one point, we asked them to kiss and it was pretty obvious that they forgot we were there for a couple of minutes. And you know what? We LOVED them for that!
I definitely need to give a couple of shout outs here, guys. Firstly, huge thanks to Page for opening up her home to us on that day. AND for putting together such beautiful flower arrangements for us to photograph! Also, a huge shoutout to everyone that helped construct and orchestrate the whole day! As mentioned, the Farm is huge and I know that there was a lot of hard work and sweat put into making the event successful and it was SO appreciated.
Lastly – thank you, Caitlin, for asking all of us to participate with you at this styled shoot. I know how much work gets put into the planning stages, as well as the execution, of a styled shoot and while it’s incredibly draining, it’s also incredibly rewarding. Just know that all of your effort and planning was very much appreciated and we can’t wait for the next one!
