Intimate Engagement Session on the Farm

Ahhhhh!!!! You guys, I’m so excited to finally share some of these images with you! I’ve been chatting with Jordan about her big day for what seems like a long freakin’ time and her engagement session was a huge portion of what we talked about!

If there is one thing I’ve learned about Jordan over the past year is that she doesn’t do anything halfway and I love that about her! Seriously, I feel like Jordan and I would be real life BFFs if she lived in Columbus. Dan & Jordan – please move to Columbus!!!

You would think that with Jordan and Dan living in Wisconsin it would have been difficult to plan their engagement session, right? And my answer to that is “not at all!'” From the very beginning, Jordan emphasized how important the location of their engagement session was to them. She sent me photos of the kind of locations she liked and I made suggestions that were local to the Columbus area. When I really started thinking about everything that she wanted in a location – fields, flowers, and a fantastic sunset – my mind went to one place. Warwick Farms.

Thankfully, Warwick did not have anything on their calendar that would have prevented us from photographing at the Farm because lemme tell ya. This place is magical. Straight out of a fairy tale kind of magical. And Jordan and Dan completely rocked it!

I’m sure you guys already know, but Jordan and Dan are both really awesome people and pretty much the cutest couple I’ve ever met or photographed. They’re so affectionate and playful and being in front of the camera came so naturally to them! And, never once did they complain. It was a hot day and they were sweaty. They had numerous outfit changes (at my semi-selfish request). And they walked barefoot in a sheep field. A sheep field filled with sheep poop. And they just laughed at how absurd the whole thing was! Their feet were covered in sheep poop and there they were, traipsing around a sheep field wearing nice, dress clothes in their bare feet. And I can’t even tell you how amazing the whole thing was. It was one of the best moments in my wedding photographer life.

Their wedding next month is going to be amazing! I’ve been looking forward to this day since the very first conversation with Jordan when they booked earlier this year. She had me at ‘donuts.’ I’m also super excited to be photographing another wedding at The Everal Barn in Westerville and to be working with Prema Designs for the first time! Make sure to tune in the next few weeks to see their wedding day preview on the blog!

HUGE thanks to Page of Warwick Farms for allowing us to adventure around your property. I will never grow tired of this magical place and will look for every excuse to come back! Beth – you have such an amazing talent with flowers! I’m so glad I’ve been able to work with you over the past couple of years. Thank you for always being excited to work with me on all of my crazy floral ideas! Most importantly, major thanks to Cody, my second shooter. Cody has been my second shooter since I first started business in 2012 and always seems to know exactly what I need from him creatively and executes it better than I ever could imagine.
