Earlier this month, I met up with a small group of local photographers to swap fall headshots. I just love getting to meet up with new people within my networking group and just having fun! I’ve been to a few get togethers this year through the networking group and I swear to you every single event I meet an entirely new group of people! It’s one of the coolest parts of being involved in such a large yet localized networking group. The Rising Tide Society has done so much for our creative communities, both locally and nationally. If you identify as a creative and are looking for a place to meet other creatives, send me an email so I can give you some info about this awesome group!
The day I met with up with these fun girls, I was having such an off day. I had a weird day at my 9-5, my check engine light came on just 5 miles down the road from the park I was meeting everyone at for the headshot swap, and then once I was able to get back on the road again, I pulled into the wrong park entrance. All small things when you really think about it. By the time I got to the correct area of the park, I met up with Alayna, Kelsie, Rachel, and Mariah and we had a great time!
The best part about being in this networking group is being able to put faces to the Instagram names we all see on a daily basis! Kelsie and I connected on Instagram and Facebook a few months ago and finally met in person that Friday night. She’s originally from Dayton, but I’m so glad she relocated and is calling Columbus her new home! And it’s always such a pleasure to photograph Alayna – this was the second time that she and I got to photograph headshots for each other!
The five of us agreed that we should make this a seasonal adventure! If you’re interested in joining us at the next headshot swap night, please let me know and I will keep you updated on the next date!
