Winter Updates from Steph Parker Photo

Wedding ring detail shot at Camp Mary Orton

You know it’s the off season when I haven’t blogged in at least a week! There are times when I absolutely hate the off season – I just want to go, go, go! But then there are days when I’m so grateful for some days off to relax and binge watch my favorite Netflix shows! It’s been a looonnnggg time since I’ve done a life update blog post so there’s never a better time than the present!

1. Obligatory Clark Update

What better way to start my updates than to talk about my best dude? Clark and I have been spending a lot of time together recently as I’m taking some time between day jobs. We spend our days cuddling, eating, going on walks, napping, and watching Netflix. He weighs almost 20 pounds and is getting F.A.T! Seriously! What the hell happened to my little 5 pound puppy?! Currently, the floor in my living and dining rooms look like a blizzard hit. A blizzard named Clark who has zero self control and destroys his stuffed toys within hours! He’s a little shit but I can’t imagine life without him!

2. Styled Shoot Planning

This is what I’ve been SO excited about recently! I’ve been chatting with a few of my friends in the industry and we’re collaborating on a beautiful styled shoot in early March. I cannot wait to photograph at one of Columbus’ best venues! It’s located in the Brewery District (downtown Columbus) and is the perfect location for a smaller, intimate wedding that is inspired by exposed brick. As I’m sure you could already guess, I’ll be talking about this styled shoot on social media so you’ll probably know when the shoot is before it even hits the blog!

3. On a Personal Level – Modern Dating SUCKS!

It’s been just under a year since I became a free agent again and I have to say – the past 11-ish months of dating have been the absolute worst! Dating in 2017 shouldn’t even be considered dating! Dating apps like Tinder and Bumble only showcase the “best” in people (insert eye roll) and it’s nearly impossible to meet people in person when you’re just a slightly awkward person. If you know me, you definitely know what I’m talking about 😉 Oh, and don’t even get me started on blind dates (unless they are extremely handsome – then sign me up)! As of now, I’m perfectly content with singleness and just hoping that this feeling I’m experiencing is just one of life’s many seasons.

4. Birthday Month Promotion – going on now!

Just in case you didn’t already know – I’m currently running a promotion on full day wedding coverage. If you’re needing a photographer for your 2017 or 2018 wedding, click this link to learn more! Help me celebrate my birthday by joining the team and becoming a #stephparkerbride or groom – there’s no better way to celebrate turning a quarter of a century old!

Thanks for catching up with me today! Make sure to check back to see photos from the styled shoot next month and all of the fun tips in between!
