This engagement session in the German Village area was one of the most fun shoots I had in 2017! And to be 100% honest, it was partially because I got to meet this sweet pup, Lucy! I absolutely love when clients want to bring their pups along to their shoots – like I’d ever pass up the chance to meet and play with cute doggos while photographing them with their humans!
On an afternoon in early September, I met up with James, Allison, Lucy, and one of Allison’s friends (our pup sitter for the shoot) at Schiller Park in German Village. James & Alli met and began dating while they were attending Kent State University so it was only fitting to include their history into the session. After we took a couple photos of them in Kent State t-shirts, they did an outfit change and we took a ton of photos of the two of them with LUCY and it was so much fun! Lucy was so cute and was occasionally very concerned that James & Alli were going to leave her behind. After we were finished taking photos with Lucy, we took off on an adventure, exploring a little bit of German Village. We even stopped for a quick cup of coffee at Stuaf’s!
Couples like James & Allison make me feel incredibly honored to be a wedding photographer. When I first met with them to discuss their wedding day, Allison mentioned that she had been following my work for a while and was excited when James proposed so she could finally ask me to photograph their big day! They’ll be tying the knot in October of this year – the ceremony will take place at the King Avenue United Methodist Church and their reception will be held at the Worthington Hills Country Club (which is where my senior prom was held – such a #tbt moment that’ll be hahaha). While Lucy will be sad to find out she is not going to be a flower girl at the wedding, I know that James & Alli’s big day is going to beautiful!
