I don’t even know where to start … Andrew & Nicole really know how to throw a fun day! The Protsman’s were married on September 3, 2017 in Cleveland and it was seriously one of the most stunningly beautiful days I’ve ever witnessed. If you love looking at pretty photos, this is the blog post for you.
My second shooter, Cody, and I drove up to Cleveland from Columbus and arrived at Nicole’s sister’s home just in time to photograph some details before Nicole and her girls got dressed. While I hung out with them, Cody drove over to Andrew and Nicole’s house to meet the guys (and Andrew & Nicole’s dog – no way could I leave him out of the post!). We all met up at the ceremony venue (Blue Heron Events Center in Medina) and before the ceremony, Andrew & Nicole did a “no look” first look. It was so sweet, but Andrew’s reaction to seeing Nicole in her amazing dress was priceless 🙂 After the ceremony and the family formals, I hopped on the party bus with the newlyweds and the wedding party and we set off for downtown Cleveland! We explored SO much of Cleveland, but First Fourth Street was my favorite! The reception was held at Windows on the River and we had a beautiful view of The Flats. I couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful wedding to photograph!
The one thing I really love about weddings are the emotions and stories I get to witness. Unfortunately, Andrew’s mother passed away after fighting breast cancer and seeing how Andrew and Nicole paid tribute to her memory made the day incredibly special and meaningful. Nicole honored her by attaching a small photo of her on her bouquet and at both the ceremony and reception, there were photos of her. I especially loved how Andrew’s step-mom paid tribute to his mother. While they danced together during the mother-son dance, she clutched a photo of Andrew and his mom. I bawled!
I could seriously go on and on about this day! I’m forever thankful for my friendship with Andrew & Nicole! Here are the 3 things I loved most about this day:
- I teared up throughout the day SO MANY TIMES! I remember at least four of those times: when Nicole’s dress got buttoned up, when Nicole recited her vows at the ceremony, when Andrew saw his mom’s photo on Nicole’s bouquet, and during Andrew’s dance with his step mom.
- Nicole’s bouquet – how could it not be! It was stunning!
- I saw more of Cleveland in just a few hours than what I’ve seen in my entire life: East Fourth Street, Progressive Field, Cavs Stadium, the Rainbow Bridge, and the boardwalk area by Windows on the River.
Enough of the reading already. I know you’re here for the photos. I hope you love this wedding – and couple – as much as I do 🙂
