Expecting Baby Callum
You guys, this couple is serious #goals! Not only are they the sweetest and kindest people, they’re also incredibly intelligent, hardworking and major believers in social activism. I first met Alex and Rebekah when I photographed their engagement session way back in 2016! And during this time, I’ve learned so much about them. They are the best dog parents (and to their baby, Callum, but we’ll talk more about him in my next post about the Degeners), they’re CrossFit-ers, Alex is an amazing chef, and Rebekah is in the final steps of wrapping up her Master’s degree! When I saw on Facebook that they were expecting, I was so excited for them! I knew instantly that they were going to be great parents. I was even more excited when a few months later, they contacted me about photographing their maternity session.
What’s better than photographing a maternity session with a cool couple? Photographing a fun couple on a beautiful fall day! I hadn’t photographed at Highbanks very recently but after seeing just how beautiful the changing leaves were and how the golden hour light hit so perfectly, I cannot wait to bring more clients here! After we photographed in the tall grasses, we ventured onto one of the paths and came across a really cool, mostly dry river bed. I looked at them hesitantly and asked if they wanted to hike down into the river bed and I was so thankful when they said “YES!”
One of my favorite parts of their session was when they pulled out one of their favorite children’s books, ‘When You Give a Mouse a Cookie.’ Individually, this was their favorite book when they were young and they could not wait to read it to their little boy!
I have to admit that writing this post was kind of challenging, especially considering Callum is now FOUR MONTHS OLD! I can’t believe how big he is already. But just you wait, soon I’ll be sharing my favorites from their lifestyle family and newborn session right after Callum was born! Until then, let’s enjoy a brief flashback to the maternity session 🙂
