Pizza, Beer & Adventure
Six days ago, this amazing couple got married and it’s past time I share images from their engagement session! When I first met Alex & Alex (yes, you read that correctly!), I knew that these two were the real deal. We met for the first time in February at Bar Louie and we discussed their wedding plans, how they met, and what I was planning to do for my birthday month. Oh, and of course we talked about their pup, Mickey! I was so excited when they decided to book their day with me! I knew that they would become more than just clients to me. I knew that the three of us were going to become friends.
Towards the end of June, the three of us planned to spend a laid-back evening together at the park. Alex & Alex typically take Mickey to the park on Fridays after work to share a picnic and take a walk just to rewind from the work week. When I pulled up to where they were parked and I saw that they brought Late Night Slice for their picnic, I knew it was going to be a fun evening!
After they ate dinner and I took some in-the-moment photos of their picnic, we started on what was going to be just a chill walk on their normal path. But then, we walked past a creek and I saw how the light was reflecting off the water and I couldn’t help myself. I asked them if they wanted to go on an adventure with me. And they said yes.
I’ll never forget those moments with them. The scenery, the way the light was perfectly shining through on the water, how much they love each other – ALL OF IT – made the night perfect beyond measure.
I’ve been a photographer for what feels like my entire life. I photographed my first wedding just over five years ago. And never in those years have I ever heard or witnessed a couple tell each other, “I love you,” more than Alex & Alex did. As someone that occasionally struggles with her own love life (any other single wedding photographers out there?! We’re the real MVPs!), it makes my heart so happy and makes me feel so hopeful, witnessing love like this. Knowing that real love truly exists. It’s a magical feeling. And I’m honored to know Alex & Alex and I’m honored they let me document their love story for them.
