I can’t believe it’s finally time to share the Bowen wedding with you guys! Scott & Lyndy were married on a beautiful, warm summer day in Columbus with all of their friends and family in attendance. We started their day together at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Grandview where we did their first look and most of their portraits prior to the ceremony. We even were able to get their family formals done before the ceremony – which was a major win for everyone!
The ceremony was beautiful – filled with lots of personal touches and meaning. And most importantly, love! After the ceremony, we took a couple of minutes to grab some “just married” shots of Scott & Lyndy before starting the drive to Dublin for their reception at the Muirfield country club. Once at the reception, we were basically able to slide right into the party because we had taken so much time in the beginning of the day to do most of our portraits! Everyone really enjoys this because who doesn’t want to spend more time enjoying the food, drinks, and conversation at the party?!
After the reception formalities, Gina and I snuck the newlyweds outside for some photos during sunset. The light was beautiful and shining through the willow tree so wonderfully – it was the perfect location for golden hour portraits! Everything about the Bowen wedding was perfectly Scott & Lyndy: classically beautiful.
And now, the second best part of this blog: my three favorite things from the Bowen wedding day!
- Scott & Lyndy’s first look! I can’t think of a better way to start off a wedding day than with a first look! The moment when a groom sees his bride for the first time on their wedding day is so special and this one didn’t disappoint. And because Scott & Lyndy opted to do a first look, we were able to get 95% of all portraits completed before the ceremony started! This meant they got to enjoy spending time with all of their friends and family before walking up the aisle and it meant more time together throughout the entire day. There’s nothing better than that, right?!
- Their families, because where would we be without them? Since we did the family formals before the ceremony started, I got to spend quite a lot of time with the Stein and Bowen families and got to witness firsthand how special the whole day was to them. Lyndy and Scott’s fathers both gave toasts at the reception and they were filled with so much meaning and love. It was truly special!
- My third favorite thing actually happened after the wedding day. After I wrapped up their photos, Scott & Lyndy and I met up at one of my favorite places, Condado, where we ate tacos and talked all about their honeymoon and their wedding day! I surprised them with their gift (printed photos and their USB) and they surprised me with one, too. Lyndy even had one of the waiters totally convinced it was my birthday! It was such a great night and I love that I can call these two friends in addition to being a #stephparkercouple!
