Triceratops and Stegosaurus and Tyrannosaurus, oh my!
From the moment Leah contacted me about photographing their wedding, I knew that any time spent with them was going to be a blast! They’re easily two of the coolest, most eccentric people I know and I really love that about them. Everything from their wedding venue and “theme,” to every little detail has been meticulously thought out and planned. And as expected, the same could be said about their engagement session!
Leah had a vision, but it took some time to come up with the right location. After she did some research, she found the perfect spot: the dinosaur exhibit at COSI. So cool, right?! When Leah proposed the idea to me, she’d already run the idea past Will and received permission from COSI to shoot in the exhibit, all that I had to do was say “yes!” And of course I did, because DINOSAURS!
I asked my go-to second shooter, assistant, and friend-extraordinaire, Gina, to tag along to help with lighting (and to shoot) and we had an amazing time! Not only did we shoot inside the dinosaur exhibit, we also explored two other exhibits: “Life” and “Progress.” This was easily one of the coolest engagement sessions I’ve ever photographed!
After we finished up at COSI, we took a walk into Franklinton and explored a bit. The area there is just so urban and raw – so unique for photos! When we wrapped up for the evening, the four of us grabbed drinks and apps at Strongwater and I just have to say, all engagement sessions should consist of a nightcap. It was the perfect way to end the evening!
Will & Leah are one of my 2019 couples. They are getting married at Anderson Farms in Granville and their outdoor wedding is going to be awesome – lots of good music and catering by the one of the city’s best bbq places, Ray Ray’s Hog Pit! But until then, take a look at some of my favorites from their engagement session!
