Drizzly Fall Day at the Apple Farm
I’m going to keep the trend going and first mention the weather: typical of Ohio, the forecast called for rain on the day we had scheduled for Jeff & Tabitha’s engagement session. Let’s be honest though, if there’s ever a day that doesn’t call for rain, it’s a miracle! Thankfully, the rain held off for almost the entire afternoon and what rain we did have was never anything more than a light drizzle.
We started our afternoon together in Pataskala at the Lynd Fruit Farm. I’ve lived in Columbus for over a third of my life (which is so weird to admit – ugh I’m getting old!) and I had never been to Lynd’s. I can’t think of a better reason to go than to photograph a fun couple’s engagement session! We wandered the rows of apple trees, looking for beautiful red apples and we talked about how they met and about Tabitha’s new dog-bro – he’s adorable! I love dog people! Strangely enough, Jeff & Tabitha both went to the same high school and knew some of the same people, but didn’t actually meet until they were in college.
After we did some photos and picked a bag of apples, we took off for our second location. I stumbled across this cool, secluded area one day when Clark and I were out and about on a walk around town and I knew that it would be really special for photos. I definitely plan to take more people here, but hopefully when there will be more light left in the day! 🙂
I really love when couples add special details and put thought into their engagement sessions to make them more personalized. Throughout their relationship, Jeff & Tabitha have went apple picking and knew that they wanted to make that a highlight of their session. And since Jeff works as a designer at the Donato’s corporate office and they’re big pizza fans, it just made since to bring pizza to their session. And I’m obviously a fan of couples bringing food to their sessions especially when they give me some of it – I’m not food obsessed or anything. They actually sent me home with an entire pizza at the end of the night which was SO nice of them!
Jeff & Tabitha are one of my 2019 couples and are getting married at the Granville Inn in early November! When I found out that I was the very first vendor they contacted about their wedding, I was so flattered and, most importantly, felt valued. It truly means a lot when couples put so much thought and care into planning their wedding plans. I am beyond excited for their big day – it’s going to be filled with so much love and laughter!
